Oleg's website
Intro
Hi, I'm Oleg! This is my personal website. I will give more info later, but for now there will be two vehicles for this page:
- I've been doing extreme vocals since 2010
- I've been doing Computer Vision professionally since 2017

I bought this domain almost eight years ago and all this time the only thing that you would see would be "Я не Олег.", meaning "I am not Oleg" in Russian. That, of course, is a reference to an
silly Russian jokeA 12-step program meeting is happening.
- Hi everybody, my name is Oleg and I'm a fucking liar
- Nice to meet you, Oleg
- I'm not Oleg
.
I've been putting off turning this into a proper website because I wanted too much - have it contain my resume, a blog, have a slick design, have it serve as a funnel to a product I necessarily needed to make before populating this page with any kind of information (my bet was on an educational platform in the field of AI/Computer Vision). Man, that sounds stressful!
I've been thinking about the dead internet theory and reclaiming my mind, time and my beloved internet from the bots and the corporations. I'm here since 2000 and I miss what was making the world wide web the most special place - the freedom to explore different nooks and crannies of the interwebs instead of five websites, stumbling upon different cool and crazy people and altars of their self-expression organically surfing, connections and word of mouth, not being fed an endless stream of perfectly tailored content~yada-yada-yada. You know the drill, you've watched Cory Doctorow or something.
I've been procrastinating this long enough. Even though I've done my first html page almost twenty years ago and I've been professionally building machine learning products for almost a decade now, I still suck at it, because I'm not a web developer. Modern web development scares me - React, Typescript, vue, next, vercel - whatever bloatware is trendy in *insert current year*. Hopefully, I'll graduate to it at some point. Not knowing it shouldn't prevent me from having a website. So, here's my page! HTML + just a little bit of CSS.
I want to do cool things here. And I also probably need to host my resume here. I'll figure it out.
